RE: Application for Master in International Business

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply for Master program in International Business at the GRENOBLE ECOLE DE MANAGEMENT starting in autumn 2017. This May, I hope to graduate from Corvinius University in Budapest from Business Administration bachelor program, as one of the top students in in the class.

During my studies I have developed special interest for the finance and marketing, because I perceive both disciplines to be concerned with building and maintaining a business strategy that leads to success. I was especially fascinated with the strategies companies used to adapt to changes in consumers’ expectations and needs and how they maintain profitable business in rigorous environment. Therefore I see that advanced study on these topics presents an exciting challenge which I want to pursue in my future.

Since I highly value globalization process I have always wanted career in international business. Due to this fact, but also due to the current shortage of qualified employees in international companies, I would like to become a professional in International Business with a wide practical and theoretical base.

As a step to my goal, I have conducted several research projects. Through the research on financial diagnostics of an enterprise I learned tools and methods for analysis of financial health of local enterprise. The other research project was focused to international market segmentation of the Hungarian market of dairy products. As a result of the research I have found out that in order to survive and be lucrative, the international company has to be extremely flexible and adaptive to competitive environment. In that line I have designed the proposal for my Bachelor thesis, and I plan to do a research on adaptation strategies international companies utilize for German market of dairy products.

My first exposure to real life work in the field of marketing was an internship in international marketing consulting firm, in their field office in Budapest, Hungary. I contributed to the company by winning the tender with the plan of promotion events for new brand of beer, which was about to be introduced to Hungarian market. The internship gave me an excellent insight into the company, since I had an outstanding opportunity to explore different working methods and practice the knowledge I gained at university. I have gathered good communication skills as well as gained the understanding of East European adverting market.

As a member of National fencing team, I have developed the capabilities to work in stressful, challenging, and fast-paced environments. I will bring those skills to the master studies as well, and apply them in my future professional career.

I first learnt about GRENOBLE ECOLE DE MANAGEMENT from the education fair, held in Budapest, when I spoke with the school representatives and one full time professor who teaches in the school. In addition to that I got recommendation from a friend who was an exchange school in your school and recommended it as a perfect learning environment.

I would also like to bring to your attention that I have completed Erasmus student exchange program in Stockholm, Sweden, so I have experience in studying abroad and acquainting with people coming from different countries and cultures. This experience helped to boost my individual potential and encouraged me to peruse my Master degree studies abroad.

I believe that with my work and studies I have a solid foundation, but through the Master’s program I hope to develop expertise in international business management.

Thank you very much for considering my application and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Istvan Nagy
